Freshwater Special
From experience fishing our inshore saltwater lures (many of which are also successfully fished in freshwater) and considerable experience growing up in the Midwest - chasing largemouth, musky, pike, trout, walleye and panfish - it seemed time to design a couple lures primarily for freshwater. The result is two new lures, "Bucky," and "Skeeter," both 3" body, 1/2 oz in weight - Bucky and Skeeter are respectively little brothers of the highly successful Junior & Scooter lures. Bucky & Skeeter are built saltwater tough, with through-wiring, #4, 2X treble tail hook and the durable finish found on all Phase II Lures. We know these 3" lures also catch small stripers and blues - so if you are teaching a youngster in salt with a light rod, Bucky and Skeeter would be great lures to use, Skeeter popping on top and Bucky darting below the surface.
NOTES:
1. BUCKY is a darting, dipping swimmer, which will swim nose down. Work it slowly and erratically so the lure will fall and rise in the water. You can also work it side to side by horizontal rod movement. Bucky can also be used as a pencil popper by moving the split ring and hook to the nose and tieing on to the tail eye.
2. SKEETER is a floating popper - work with a jerk, pause, jerk, pause, sometimes changing speed. You can also add a small piece of rind for added action.
3. While designed primarily for freshwater, both Bucky and Skeeter are successful with light tackle for small saltwater species, such as schoolie stripers and taylor blues.
4. Pictures of all Bucky & Skeeter lures are shown below.
